The Willink is a successful and oversubscribed school with a strong international ethos, listed in the top ten non-selective schools in Berkshire in 2019. The school has 1250 students on roll including 220 in the Sixth Form, and is situated in a pleasant semi-rural setting south west of Reading.

We have experience and expertise in Initial Teacher Training and professional development and are a strategic partner to the Teaching School Hub Berkshire. The Willink is the lead school for the Mobius Maths Hub – a national centre for excellence in the teaching and leadership of mathematics education.

Assistant Librarian

  • Part-time – 25 hours per week, term time only, plus 5 training days (20 core hours plus 5 flex hours to be reviewed annually)
  • Band C3-D9 £22,737 - £25,119 FTE (pro rata for 25 hrs £12,963.67 - £14,386.89)

We are looking to appoint an Assistant Librarian. The successful applicant will work closely with the Library Manager with all aspects of running the school library, providing a welcoming, organised and safe learning environment for the whole school community.

As Assistant Librarian you will help develop student reading motivation and culture, use of information and digital literacy and encourage independent learning. You will deputise for the Library Manager and be the sole supervisor on a designated day of the week.

On occasion the role may require extra hours, but this will be by prior arrangement with the Library Manager; therefore, the successful applicant needs to have a flexible approach.

We are looking to appoint an Inclusion Mentor to provide care and guidance to vulnerable students, in liaison with Head of Learning and SENDCo.  Previous knowledge of working with young people and external agencies would be an advantage. Proven skills of negotiation and conflict resolution would assist in your application as you will be dealing with difficult situations. You will be working with an experienced and supportive team.
